John MacEachern was born in Hermitage, near Vernon River, on Prince Edward Island. He lived his life there tending to the family farm. He also worked as a daily worker shoveling snow and removing debris from the railway which went past his home. John lived as a bachelor his whole life, and died at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital on April 8th, 2000 at age 88.
